Ms. Pac-Man

Xbox Live Arcade super-star Namco knows better than to mess with a classic, and Ms. Pac-Man is no different. Who needs updated graphics or new features when the original title is so sublime to begin with? When something’s not broke, Namco knows better than to fix it.
Ms. Pac-Man for the XBLA is an almost direct port of the arcade version. Complete with the four mazes, semi-random ghosts and warp tunnels, this is the game that you’ve grown up playing. The only true difference, and one that we’ve enjoyed with a number of Live Arcade titles, is the ability to continue a new game from the highest level you’ve previously reached. While this doesn’t help you rack up a higher score, it does let you skip some of the earlier levels if you want.
If you’ve got a hankering for a 400 point classic, Ms. Pac-Man might be up your alley. For those players who didn’t grow up playing this game on a stand-up, there’s no better time to start than the present. Namco puts yet another unsullied classic into our download happy mitts, and we couldn’t be more pleased.

Finally, a game on XLA that even I might pay for.

Nice review. I’m thinking I might get this but I already have PacMan so I’m not sure if its worth my money.

I tried, I really tried to get hooked on this, but I can’t. Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man are classics best remembered fondly, at least for me. I don’t think they hold up anymore.
Aww, that’s a piece of my heart rotting and turning black.
