Smash TV

I played Smash TV quite a lot in my youth, even though I didn’t really like it. And I still don’t like it. The concept is that you’re in a TV-show where you have to kill to survive. There are plenty of enemies on every level, and after you’ve gone far enough, you’ll meet a boss. And every boss gets even more impossible to beat.

Smash TV is just too difficult for me. I don’t know if it’s because I suck (which it may very well be) or if the game sucks. Either way, it’s no fun to constantly die in every single room. Even the first couple of levels are too hard for me!

It’s however easy to get the hang of the game and there is plenty to do. Plus you can play it with a friend, co-op style. But since Geometry Wars Evolved basically is the same game only better, my choice is easy.

  1. Smash TV is supposed to be hard. The game was one of the more obvious quarter munchers back in the day. It also follows the Running Man theme, and has a couple of quips in there from Robocop (If I recall correctly).

As a classic, it’s good. The core concept still holds up well, there’s a variety of enemies, and it’s non-stop slaughter. There are better variations on the game available on Xbox Live, but there’s only one Smash TV. :)
